Hi girls!!!!!! This is going to blow your mind !!!! Because it tastes so SO good and at the same is one of the best breakfast options, especially if you’re a vegetarian… I call it Sattvic Oats because there is something really very soothing and simple about them when you taste them. No fancy flavours no artificial colors or taste. Pure and easy to digest just how nature intended it.
And just like everything else I share with you, super easy and simple to make.
Just three things –
Oats – you can use rolled oats or instant as the ones I am using here.
Jaggery – as sweet as you prefer
Ghee – literally a teaspoon
Now cook you oats as you like them in milk or water. I’m cooking them in milk here.
Once they are done as per your liking, tumble them out into your bowl.
Now add a spoonful of jaggery to it. Never add jaggery while the oats are getting cooked as something it tends to split the milk. Also, always remember while selecting jaggery. Darker the color, richer and earthier is the taste. Though I guess if you keep light brown jaggery for some time ( and if it is natural jaggery) it will change its color and get darker. So getting back to he recipe,
Now to this beautiful bowl of oats add a spoonful of ghee.
You will be able to catch the aroma when you mix it well to realise how your mundane oats have transformed into food that’s meant for gods. And it is also ready to eat!!!
You can add a few nuts and raisins if you like your oats crunchy. Adding ghee drastically reduces this recipe’s GI so again a boon for weight watchers. Jaggery, anyways, is a universally known super food with good content of iron and other micro nutrients. So what you have is a power packed oats preparation which will make you sing. It’s a fantastic post workout food too !!!!!
