Westin Hotels & Resorts today announced its partnership with Wellness expert and Ex Miss Universe Lara Dutta as the newest Asia Pacific Westin Well-Being Brand Advocate. I was there to witness these two identities, that strive to inspire people to incorporate wellness in their lifestyles, come together.
In her role as a well-being brand advocate, Lara will share her holistic lifestyle tips of restoring calm and balance at home or on the road with guests and associates; and how despite her hectic schedules, she is able to maintain a balance of work and life. Lara was Miss Universe in 2000. It was the turn of the century and she propelled the changing India on a global map.
As a former Miss Universe as well as in her current role as a film actor, Lara Dutta has become a wellness inspiration to many. She has been practicing yoga for over 12 years and has also launched her Prenatal Yoga CD, helping pregnant women and young mothers to adopt a balanced and stress-free lifestyle. Lara has developed her understanding about her body and her needs extremely well. She gives credit to yoga and meditation that helped her develop this awareness. She is as honest as a busy mother can get, speaking openly about her challenges post pregnancy. She doesn’t shy away from the fact that any life changing decision requires discipline. She believes that one should develop self awareness and learn to understand what their body needs instead of following random diets. She strongly belives that both men and women need to make their well-being their priority so that they can fully enjoy other aspects of their life.
Which is where the changes that Westin has developed in their offerings come into play. The easiest time to fall off the healthy lifestyle wagon is when one travels and they are keen to ensure that you avoid that Westin propagates six pillars of wellness: Sleep Well, Eat Well, Move Well, Feel Well, Work Well and Play Well. With a brand positioning rooted in wellness for more than a decade, Westin Hotels & Resorts is dedicated to ensuring that guests leave feeling better than when they arrive. In March 2014, the brand launched The Westin Well-Being Movement – a global initiative designed to enhance the Well-Being of guests and associates with the introduction of a string of innovative partnerships and programs across the brand’s six pillars of Well-Being. Building upon its existing healthy SuperFoodsRx™ menus, Westin recently introduced new delicious and nutrient-rich offerings including Westin Fresh by The Juicery, featuring energizing juices and smoothies, and kid-tested nourishing dishes developed in partnership with SuperChefsTM on the Westin Eat Well Menu for Kids. The inspiration for Westin’s wellness strategy, the iconic Heavenly® Bed is lauded as one of hospitality’s great innovations. WestinWORKOUT®, RunWESTIN™ and Westin Gear Lending with New Balance® are some of the other initiatives of the brand, designed for wellness.
So no more excuses now. You can maintain your fitness routine even when you travel at Westin hotels. So go ahead plan a spa visit to re-energise your senses or just go and try out their super foods for lunch. Which will gently and lovingly motivate and encourage you to not give up but constantly strive to develop your efforts towards your well-being.
